The box score from Monday night’s game said the attendance at Wells Fargo Center hit four figures. The feel of the place and the look of it, at times, felt like much fewer than that.

Officially, 6,315 fans watched the 76ers fall, 127-97, to the Brooklyn Nets. Unofficially, if you asked Evan Turner, it wasn’t nearly that many.

“I mean, I didn’t really expect anybody to be out there. It’s preseason,” Turner said.

It’s not easy to play in front of a mostly empty arena. That being said, Turner thinks the Sixers are a regular-season winning streak away from luring back fans.

“You’ve got to hit a hot streak and give the fans a reason to come out,” he said. “We have to build up the excitement. If you build it, they will come, you know?”

The Sixers, who have the day off Tuesday, will hit the practice floor Wednesday before flying to Charlotte for Thursday’s 11 a.m. preseason game against the Bobcats.
