Michael Carter-Williams still day to day

(AP)
For now, Michael Carter-Williams is day to day.

The 76ers did not offer an update Thursday on the rookie’s left foot injury, which is being termed a left foot arch bruise. There's no word on whether he will be available to play in the team’s three-game, four-day roadtrip that begins Friday.

Sixers coach Brett Brown said he learned Carter-Williams would be a scratch from Wednesday night’s 123-117 overtime win over Houston “at 5 p.m.”

“It was a combination of medical people, really,” Brown said. “Michael’s good to go, but the medical people advised us we should treat it gently and treat it with respect and it would be best given our schedule that he sat out (Wednesday) and I reluctantly agreed.”

Carter-Williams, who was observed in a walking boot at Wednesday’s game, was a full participant in the team’s morning shootaround. He sat out Tuesday’s practice.

The point guard said Tuesday that he injured his foot by stepping on a player in the Sixers’ loss to San Antonio Monday.

Carter-Williams is averaging 17.4 points, 7.6 assists and 5.4 rebounds in eight games for the Sixers, who play in Atlanta Friday, in New Orleans Saturday and in Dallas Monday.
